Updated Registration Rules

New Member Posting Requirement

To keep our community active and protect the forum from spam accounts, all new members are required to make at least one public post or reply within 4 hours of registration.

What counts: Introductions, questions, or replies to existing topics.

What does not count: Private messages do not count toward this requirement, and new members cannot start brand-new topics until they have posted in an existing one.

Important Note on Account Removal:

Accounts that fail to meet this requirement will be automatically removed after 4 hours. If your account is removed, you can simply register again when you are ready to post, then the issue will be completely resolved. These seemingly draconian measures are strictly for bot management.

Community Conduct

The Doomstead expects all members to be respectful of each other and to conduct themselves with basic decency during discussions and debates. The moderation staff reserves the right to restrict or ban posting privileges at their discretion.

Why Do We Have This Rule?

Spam Prevention: Requiring human action (a public post or reply) within a short window filters out automated scripts.

Keeping the Community Active: This rule encourages new members not to be passive observers and to participate in the community.

Streamlined Moderation: By automating the removal of inactive or unverified accounts, the moderation staff spends less time deleting bots and more time fostering quality discussions.
