The chosen ones.I was never comfortable with that, and find it offensive that I would have more equanimity than god. This claptrap comes from the 'control face' of religion having nothing to do with the spiritual face.
Religion has many faces, we really need more than one word for what we mean by religion. But the social control face of religion makes sure that does not happen.
It is a profound irony in being told to look up to a divine archetype who seems less emotionally regulated or compassionate than an average person.
