The West must heed the warning from Taiwan: China is threatening global freedom
Beijing poses two different but equally significant dangers. The first is its current insidious and intensifying campaign of influence, infiltration, intimidation, and espionage. This is already well under way and threatens the foundations of liberal democratic societies everywhere. The second is active war, which would be catastrophic for the entire world.
As threats to "Global Freedom" go, Xi & China have a lot of catching up to do to compete with Trumpolini & the FSoA.🙄 At least so far in the last 30 years or so, they haven't dispatched their Bombers & Missiles to drop the Death from Above on anybody to attempt to convince them they need Freedom & Democracy like we have in Amerika. Granted they do flood everybody's stores with cheap toys and clothes, but that's not quite as threatening to freedom as having your kids' school turned into rubble during recess.
Not hard to imagine what would happen to the AI and Data Center Bubble if/when Xi decides he's tired of having the Taiwanese Pols trash talking him in the press. Memory Chips will be as scarce as 12 year old virgins at Epstein's prep school after a Trump sponsored beauty pageant.

The new computer has 8 of these and when I bought them about two months ago they were a hundred bucks cheaper a stick so I got eight for less than $4000. I also begged the vendor for a discount since I was also spending $1500 for the processor at the same time. It worked, and I got $50 off the order.
The august stewardship of our tech overlords evaporated as soon as they were forced against their will to create a market shortage for computer parts when their wet dream of A.I. profit and domination stole the chip factories. When money starts controlling the mind as it does, it happens. Shit happens. Just like when Ophiocordyceps unilateralis, the zombie-ant fungus does what it does, greed changes the behavior of an infected host sending spores of corruption everywhere.
Our enemies are not as far away as China is. They are among us. Right here. Except when they have jetted away to somewhere else.
And so much for the culturally hegemonic fairy-tail about titans of industry being morally responsible. I think we finally have solid proof they are not. Shocking as that truth is, it is being definitively demonstrated beyond any reasonable doubt.
But what will America do with that information? Not a god-dammed thing.
Computer hardware already is beyond the budget of an average American. It now costs as much as Melania used to cost. She too was out of the budget of an average American.

If you are British you are down with thinking Uyghurs are being horribly oppressed. I really do not know what is going on, and I do not have a strong opinion since I do not know what information to trust. It has been my experience that Chinese people can be very decent. They can also be as racist as some white people I have known can be. Like with people of any culture, YMMV. Your mileage may vary.
