If you are at all familiar with Trumpovetsky's long history of overstating his wealth publicly while trying to minimize his tax liabilities privately with sealed tax filings, as well as seeking financial support from Russian Oligarchs laundering money in the NY RE market, you won't be at all surprised to learn that the master of the Art of the Deal doesn't have the cash floating around to post bond for the half a $BILLION$ dollars worth of fines he currently has racked up in judgements against him, and growing all the time with interest the longer he tries to delay or avoid paying by appealing the rulings.  Obviously also, he hopes to delay all this long enough to win the POTUS election, then in all likelihood Pardon himself as his first official act after being sworn into office by the Chief Justice of the SCOTUS.

The timing on all of this is of course hardly coincidental, and by painting himself as the victim of a political witch hunt by evil liberal democrats gain additional sympathy from his constituency of  low grade moron rednecks who are too inbred and stupid to learn to read if they even got a decent education, his legal problems actually enhance the possibility he will be reelected, not diminish it.  These folks perceive this as "thumbing their noses" at the liberal elites who serve Satan.  Add to this the fact that "all publicity is good publicity", with his face in the newz every day spouting off a 140 character Tweet blasting his corrupt opponents, he gets more free publicity every day than the cost of the fines he can't afford to pay.

Of course, we here at the Diner have the slim hopium that he will not get elected and eventually forced into bankruptcy by liquidating his RE holdings and selling into a falling market, but history tells us that it's far more likely that he skates away without even getting 6 months in a federal prison reserved for rich white collar criminals, playing tennis and relaxing in the hot tub followed by eating dinner prepared by the prison chef, a Cordon Bleu trained Chef convicted of laundering money for the Mafia trough his restaurant, prior to pleading out his conviction and taking the prison job for $200K/year, a free Mercedes and private dining room for power brokers where he gets paid by the dinner and makes the buk of his money in untaxable cash and transfers to his offshore bank account in the Cayman Islands.  Once even convicted and sentenced to his 6 month vacation, Trumpovetsky would retire with his Golden Parachute t his own Villa in the Cayman Islands and sip Margueritas with his newest Trophy Wife, an 18 year old Ukrainian model from Kiev.  It's not the kind of punishment we would like to see, but it's better than what we're likely to get, which is 4 more years of this senile, blithering idiot making sure that no matter how bad we think collapse can get, he will make it worse.
