For those of us here on the Last Great Frontier who would prefer cozy warm Old Folks Warehouses to Igloos, new talk about a gas pipeline being built from the slope is welcome newz. It also would be aa huge economic boom during the building phase. Of course it means more CO2 in the atmosphere, but since they're going to get it from somewhere, might as well be here.
All the obstacles to financing it are still there along with the usual environmental hurdles. Overall though, I would say politically most Alaskans support this project. Won't help the next winter though. I don't think they have a finalized plan for the near term either.
