On a more serious note, I have heard since the Covid pandemic China has struggled with growth and this lack of growth is most acutely felt by the youth in the country. It is telling that the Chinese government has stopped providing official figures for youth unemployment since 2023 so one can only speculate on what the situation is on the ground.
This lack of growth, worsening demographics not to mention an upcoming Trump presidency could spell a difficult period for China. Sure the fat cats may take the sting out of US tariffs by offshoring operations to cheaper neighboring countries but such solutions would only exacerbate the existing unemployment issues experienced by the young. Any ideas how you envision unemployment to turn out for China in the next five years?
