The Trump-Musk slash & burn approach to "draining the swamp" of the federal goobermint bureaucracy plays really well with his MAGA-otts followers, but it totally ignores the consequences of the havoc it is creating, which takes a while to play out.  On the surface, goobermint spending is only part of the total GDP, but in every area if you go 2 or 3 levels deep into the subcontractors and the subsidies, as well as the money spent by the workers who are being fired, it touches every area of commerce going on.  The confusion is inevitably going to resulting breaks in the supply chain with totally unpredictable results.

How long it will take for things to start to really unravel is an open question, but I suspect a year from now the consequences of the ongoing massacre will be evident even to his faithful followers.  How things play out with the economy in the toilet will be quite interesting to be sure.
