Anchorage has a very good Public Transportation system for cripples and graybeards, Anchor Rides. For $3.50 they pick you up at your door and drop you off at your destination in a wheelchair lift or ramp equipped Cripple Van. You just have to call and schedule the ride 1-2 days beforehand. It's one of the main reasons I moved down here from the valley when the spot in my current Geriatric Frathouse opened up when they kicked me out of the hospital after my last health crash. Vastly superior to Assisted Living Gulags. Just really pricy, $200K/year to reside here. Fortunately, I meet the fairly stiff criteria for long term care in this level of facility.
Besides that, in good weather I have my outdoor super cripple scooter which has sufficient range on a charge to get me anywhere in town. In either case I'd find it more entertaining to hang out here and play balloon volleyball against the Alzheimer residents than listen to a Peak Oil comedy rant. 😒
