It isn't about credibility so much, yours or anyone elses. All the early peakers (not you so much, you didn't ever lock down to hard on a date, it was more of a general thing to you it seemed like) screwed the pooch, some just more amusingly than others. Certainly there were credibility issues, Colin Campbell lacked it, as did all the technical minded folks I can think of. While peak oil took quite some time to solve, that was because it required some decent $$ and a combination of experience across three different specialties. And then....you science the shit out of it. The decent $$$ ran into the 7 figures. That is certainly part of the bugaboo of the entire thing. 

As far as getting off the radar, that is easy. Die, or stop posting as yourself where your current ideas and continuing affiliation with doom topics can be compared to your past.

You are in good company though. David Hughes is still floating around, some folks from peakoil.com migrated to peakoilbarrel, some even wrote books thinking they had solved it mathematically. A PhD in EE as a matter of fact. He is full of shit, but great fun to poke and argue with. Some TOD folks, and of course Art "there is no oil in US shales" Berman is now doing philosophical commentary that is AI written, I'd be willing to bet dollars to donuts on. Nate seems to have moved on, but still hosts some of the old suckers on his show.

Ron Patterson, Gail tends to play in just "energy" now...using the same arguments and similar graphs that she did at TOD, but with no better logic regardless. Just argument, from someone who's global peak oil is approaching a 20 year oopsy. Whipple died. Heinberg is reinventing the wheel as best he can and morphed into more eco...although recently I caught a whiff of him trying to recycle his nonsense again, trying to explain why he had been wrong....by now admitting what was obvious to those of us who didn't fall for it knew back then. Couldn't tell him that in the moment though, him being a good violin player pretending to be a geoscience polymath of some sort.

And there are others, but most have dried up and blown away.
