Republicans pan Democrats' demands for ICE reform in DHS funding, with little time to reach deal
Thune, a South Dakota Republican, called Democrats' demands "unrealistic and unserious," while saying they aren't "even willing to engage in a negotiation and discussion to try and reach a result."
At least the Dems gave a starting point. The Reps could come back with their own proposal if they were serious about negotiating. They don't because Trumpolini doesn't want to accept ANY of the proposed limitations. They also won't publish because they want to do all the negotiating behind closed doors.
Looks like we'll have a long shutdown.
