Collapse comes before the dead bodies. When there are dead bodies things have already collapsed.
Depends on the definition used obviously. Collapse comes with the bodies. Faux collapse is the kind without the body count, just people wanting to classify a disruption in the norm as collapse. That allows the collapse game to just keep on roling. Collapse comes in forms of severity. It has to be severe enough to have a body count.
CoPilot say:
Collapse refers to a profound and sustained breakdown of a society's essential systems—such as governance, economy, infrastructure, and cultural institutions—in which the disruption is so severe that it is accompanied by a large and lasting decrease in the human population.
