China blocks Scarborough Shoal and 30% of global shipping
China isn’t sending warships to the strait of Hormuz (yet), despite the US blocking 6 merchant ships in the first 24 hours of the U.S. blockade. Instead, they are blocking a much bigger shipping lane(s),the Scarborough Shoal.
Located in the South China Sea. As much as 30% of the world's goods (not just oil) travel through the shoal, and the impact could be huge and immediate. It is also known as Bajo de Masinloc by the Phillipines, and Huangyan Island by China.
This could turn out big. Stay Tuned!
