Quote from: K-Dog on Today at 04:59 PMQuoteBrave new world and all that entails? Or run out of the clock fat and happy?
You have time to think about this?
Been paid to do mostly that since before this century started. And of COURSE it needs thought about. Brave new world, with uncertainty about competing with youngsters and all, or run out the clock. It isn't as though I've had many grand slams since solving peak oil....I still wonder if under the right circumstances and environment I don't have another one left in me.
The idea of running out the clock just living on past laurels just doesn't seem...challenging.
Quote from: K-DogI never have time to do the all the things I want to do.Same here. Last summer's motorcycle is still waiting for me to replace the fan switch, been riding it with a manual switch for a year.
Quote from: K-DogRunning out the clock is something I can't imagine. And while nobody cares to comment on it, the Doomscroll which requires labor to grow and improve is almost a new career for me. I have plans to improve it.
Well, doing interesting things I like I get, and have those things to do, the support and money to do it, and my employer will happily let me run out the clock being their guy. It isn't as though I sit around slumbering at work, there are children to be mentored, conferences to talk in ( 2 invitations in DC end of this month), workshops coming up in a month or two invitation only but....there it is...over the horizon, brave new world, do new and above anad beyond one more time....versus....normality.
