I do feel their pain, that is different.

I can feel it, but I have to ask.  How many more times will these class traitors have to starve before they learn?

So poor people, who don't have your education, wealth or life experience, are "class traitors"? Because...they don't agree with your politics?

I'm not saying your politics, or their's, are worth spit. Politics being relative, and completely transactional in most cases....only that what does it make you as an American, bashing others who have no more requirement to have your politics than they do your education, wealth or matching Mercedes? You have the luxury of worrying about politics, be it your favorite, or the ones you think others should have.

I was raised in Appalachia. We never saw a 'Benz anywhere, it was as common as a Moon landing module landing in the church parking lot, or at the local grocery. Politics went with the unions, because it was the coal miners who had the decent jobs. When they weren't dying of Black Lung anyway (got an uncle that went that way). They voted the way the unions told them, they didn't think about it anymore than you did when you spent $20k on a appliance for your house and represented it as a sign of being eco-friendly. No objection from me of course, I just completed a solar panel install and whole house battery backup (Tesla).

You and I can AFFORD to make our choices, and wonder why others don't make the same ones as we do. Think of it this way...in Appalachia, they may no more believe that Anyone's political system will cure their living conditions. After all, that is what they've been told since they were old enough to vote.

VOTE FOR ME!!! I'LL GIVE YOU STUFF! I'LL MAKE YOUR LOT IN LIFE BETTER!

Someone comes along with a thought based argument, which you at least might have, and guess what? WOW! they say. Sounds good. NOW EXPLAIN HOW YOU PROMISING SOMETHING IS ANY DIFFERENT THAN ANYTHING ELSE WE'VE BEEN PITCHED SINCE JOHNSON'S WAR ON POVERTY THAT WASN'T?

Politics as a solution....doesn't stand a chance against generational memory of the same claim....by people who can afford to do what you and I can. And have.
