Let's see...they might start by offering a little more money for the opportunity to die to protect the interests of the rich people in America.  $20K/year starting salary?  Are you kidding?  That is fucking $10/hr if you were only working a 40/hr week, in the military you're on call 24/7.  You can make more money flipping burgers at Mickey Ds without risking your life every day and eating K-rations.  Your boss may be an asshole, but at least he's not usually the drill sergeant out of Full Metal Jacket, plus you don't get a Dishonorable Discharge if you quit, just a bad recommendation if you leave it on the resume.


Obviously, as soon as we run into a situation where more than a an aircraft carrier, an AWACS and a    couple of divisions of Marines and Navy Seals and some CIA Black Ops contractors can handle, they'll be rolling out the draft.  It's almost exactly 50 years since the draft was eliminated in favor of an all volunteer army, I remember because it was cancelled the year before I would have been required to register.  I wonder how the current generation of 17 year olds would react to having their names picked out of a hat to serve as cannon fodder attacking Palestinian villages to clear them for Israeli settlement?
