Information categories

You only have three categories here. In time finding relevant subject matter to specific areas  of interest will likely become difficult. Is there any interest in having more categories? I can think of many others but one comes to mind that I suspect many of us could contribute to. Call it "Getting by on the doomstead while aging out" or some such title, Just a thought.

On the original Diner Forum, I organized the forum into different discussion boards specific to the topics discussed.  We had boards for Economics, Energy, Geopolitics, Climate, etc., etc, etc.  Each of those topics had threads which sometimes ran thousands of posts long and lasted for years.  The Inflation vs. Deflation debate is one example. Near Term Human Extinction another.

It takes quite a bit of time to keep a board organized in this fashion, and it is really only worthwhile to do it if you have a lot of posting going on.  We used to get 100-200 posts/day during the heyday of the Diner.  Now if we get 4-5 posts/day it's a lot.  I'm not going to spend the time to do this organization and I doubt K-Dog wants to do it either.  Perhaps if/when our participation and posting volume increases we will do it.

Wow. Does it reflect the credibility of the ideas espoused by all those late 20th and early 21st century doom-o-philes? Take a respected PhD for example, like Richard Duncan. He gave his talk in front the Geologic Society of America, the PURE eggheads in geology, they don't do stupid. And then permanent blackouts in North America due to lack of natural gas within abut a decade didn't arrive....not sure what his PhD is in, but a freshman level class in geology might have come in AWFUL handy when it came to avoiding egg on face of both the GSA and him and everyone suckered into using his graphics.

Starting there, it sure didn't help when drill baby drill arrived and got applied to that geology everyone missed! Once that bubble got burst, even the amateurs couldn't hold their noses any longer and headed for the exits? That and Planet X or the Mayan Calendar not showing up either probably put the nail in the coffin.

Time to get some NEW excitement started! How about we recycle the 2016 BOE causing extinction? Has McPherson continued to roll back his 2016 year by year to stay ahead of the kind of laughter he has generated?

We need some more credible doom. And maybe new players...isn't Chris Martenson still on the game? Did he make it through the keyhole of credibility unlike the others? Saw him on a video the other day...looked well fed, educated, normal, his Crash Course of Ignorance on Peak Oil didn't seem to knock him back into "where did all my subscribers go!" land.

Bringing in the mailbox money I bet! Can we find any PhDs who didn't get discredited 10+ years ago, and begin doing intereviews with them like back in the old days? Just..not THOSE ones...they didn't exactly come out unscathed either.
