Five Universal Laws of Human Stupidity were written down by Carlo M. Cipolla in a letter distributed among his friends.
Here they are:
- Always and inevitably everyone underestimates the number of stupid people in circulation.
- The probability that a certain person is stupid is independent of any other characteristic of that person.
Intelligence, education, or status doesn't make someone immune. - A stupid person is causes losses to other people while deriving no gain. They also incur losses themselves.
- Non-stupids always underestimate the damaging power of the stupid.
- A stupid person is the most dangerous type of person. More dangerous than simple evil which knows what it does.
* A stupid person causes losses to other people while deriving no gain themselves. That is both Musk and Trump now. But if Trump gets by with his bullshit then Trump is not stupid. Trump is a bandit then. A person who harms others but gains for themself is a bandit. A person who hurts themself while helping others in contrast is a helpless person.
I don't think his bullshit will abide. Trump will have his own bunker moment. For that reason I label him as stupid now.
