9/11 anniversary: How the lessons of the attacks are still being learnt

The 9/11 attacks exposed critical failures in intelligence sharing and strategic imagination, which prompted major reforms across Western security agencies. Although cooperation among allies improved significantly, subsequent missteps, including flawed assessments regarding weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and the underestimation of rising powers like China and Russia, reveal persistent challenges. Despite technological advances, the core issue remains unchanged: gathering intelligence is useless without accurate interpretation and sound strategic judgment.

9-11 is a day America changed.  It can be interpreted in many ways.  Perhaps an  unusual way to see it is as when the owners took full charge and turned us all into renters.
