I'm confident that Prigozhin is behaving this way only because Putin allows it. His public, obscenity-laden insults of the defense minister and the military's command while there's a war, in front of a broad audience, are unusual enough that they're only possible in the absence of a harsh reaction from the top.

And this is speculative, but what if Putin and Prigo are staging a play for Lukashenko's consumption. Perhaps Lukashenko has not been as pliable as Putin would like? Aerial photos today reveal on groudntents and facilities for Wagner troops. One wonders, to what end?
