How money comes to be.  It is anti-democratic you see.  And we can't have that.

In my dreams.  And in yours.  But a reality certainly not anywhere else.

The DNA of humanity prefers hierarchy.  To be top dog.  To dream to be rich, and live in a faraway land.  Leave your problems behind.

A common attitude that shall cause much pain.  The century of the self, where billions follow their dreams without knocking each other over.  It is an idealistic illusion.  But that crop was sown, and there will be a harvest.

Less talk of mitigation and more talk about adapting.

I agree, mitigation is an elite position that forgets about most people.  How to deal matters more.  But with so many people unaware of there even being an issue, there will be much suffering.

QuoteWe know this shit is coming down the road.  We can be planning ahead to minimize the damage it might do, minimize the death and cost.  And that is as least an important activity or way of thinking as thinking about mitigation.

Regardless there is a lot of thinking going on and not much else.  I watch the video and I agree.  I also see the luxury of living in the 10% of humanity that has time for speculation on the future.

Most people are too busy paying their bills and surviving their personal circumstances to care about who dies in one of the four current wars going on.  Can you name them?  I couldn't name them all.  I had to hear the wars in a list.  I don't claim to be better.  I just claim to be aware.  And I think there are more than four wars.

So people die in wars right now and it is all out of sight and out of mind.  How can people who think this way possibly care about the CO2 in the atmosphere NOW increasing at MORE THAN 1% EVERY TWO YEARS, and accelerating.  COVID was a minor speed bump in consumption.  A bump that has been more than made up for.

Pontificate we may, Mathew Slater and I do not grow our own corn.  Such is the economics of collapse.

And all the climate scientists  with their fancy models were wrong.  It is not going to be 2 degrees C before long.  It is going to be 3 degrees that you see!

Mostly good advice.  I would add that Collapse makes a great retirement hobby.  :)   Rather than causing me to be suicidal, collapse has given me a reason for living!  My main goal is to stay alive long enough to see the collapse of the monetary system on a global scale.  The day faith is lost and everybody pushes the SELL button and there are no buyers.  Like the 2010 crash of the S&P 500, but going across all asset classes.

CALL ALAN!

There is no life without death. I liked his tonals...very appropriate for talking about shit calmly. I wonder if ever yells!
