One does not have to be rich to be a narcissist, but those who are likely spread the most pain.

Inherited money drops the IQ of succeeding generations by 10 points every time.  Can something like that be studied?  No, but that does not make it less true.  Simply unproven.  Nobody is going to get a grant to study this.  What would Ockham say?

Who else but the rich the time to learn things at a deep level?  It is a genuine quandary.  The real deal.  It is getting back to nobody but them having any time for thinking.  Everyone else is busy bussing between part time jobs, too exhausted for any fatigue that critical thinking is sure to bring.

Thinking is tied to wealth.  If you are a janitor who smokes a fat doobie and watches You Tube all day you do not need the same political rights as Elon Musk.  Musk knows what to do with stuff and you don't.

There are weighty issues to decide.  You are just a maggot wiggling in the carcass of humanity.  One of millions and billions.  Just comply and die.  It's the circle of life.  Do your part.  And when Musk  makes a smoking husk of things say, it was not me.  All I did was stand by and watch.

When the undesirables are shipped to Mars it will be a paradise.

Got Money? Then You Might Lack Compassion

Are the rich really the unfeeling boors they're made out to be? Studies suggest that the richer people are, the less compassion they show.

So you and I as well off gentlemen must be pretty low on the compassion scale?

If you think you are rich you are deluded.  But to answer your question, it depends in part how much misery we have each seen.  It is not a simple matter, and there will be great variations in the particular demographic slice you look at.  Different temperament and experience.

The fact is the very rich see life differently than most people and not in a good way.  I'll speak for myself, personal experience has taught me this.

Seriously, how many billionaires have you talked to.  I have talked to three.  People get rich enough they become, 'citizens of the world' and they see themselves as a superior class.  I am more than entitled to my opinion.  I have seen a few things.

And don't even try asking which three.  RE knows of one, and that is all you need to know.

The very rich class begins at about 10 times what I think you think I have.  Far more than what an average person can reasonably expect to save and earn or just plain have without exploiting other people in their life.
