The Polycrisis Disaster and Constraint

A devastating landslide in Nepal’s Himalayas, triggered by glacial retreat and climate change, destroyed infrastructure, killed over a thousand, and left thousands missing, exposing the acute vulnerability of developing nations to escalating climate disasters. Despite urgent needs for adaptation and recovery, global financial systems remain inadequate, with frozen climate aid funds, rising borrowing costs in wealthy nations, and shrinking development finance creating a cycle of disinvestment and deepening crisis that threatens both survival and stability.

Answer is THEY CAN'T.

Who is going to loan BILLIONS to rebuild entire towns which were already impoverished before the glaciers started collapsing on top of them?  Even if somebody did loan them money, how could they ever hope to pay them back?  They are DOOMED.

There's a reason remote mountainous communities are impoverished.  They are too removed from trade routes and lack road systems to have any economic value.  Even if there were valuable minerals to mine in those mountains, the cost of doing the mining and building the roads and railways to get the minerals out would be too high for it to be profitable.  They don't have the electric power to build Data Centers or some kind of manufacturing and they never will.  Their only source of FOREX is the Tourist Trade of climbers and folks on Spiritual Journeys.

Realisticaly, this should be a wake up call for the people to LEAVE and migrate to some location not on the leading edge of collapse, but who will take them?  There's the real problem with this iteration of collapse, there's nowhere left to go to.  Borders are being closed, even Cittizens are being deported from many countries.  Millions of people are already living in Refugee Camps in MENA and SE Asia.

The Global South isn''t waiting for collapse to arrive.  It's well underway and accelerating.
