Hormuz closure squeezes global economy as oil demand destruction intensifies, IEA says

World oil demand is set to fall further than previously expected this year, the International Energy Agency said Wednesday, as the impact of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz deepens.  The IEA forecast demand will drop by 1.6 million barrels a day in 2026. That’s 510,000 barrels a day more than its last monthly prediction in July.

Crude stockpiles also running low.  Should get interesting when they bottom out.  Timing could put it right in front of the election.  Cross your fingers.

Mutiny Aboard US Carrier Abraham Lincoln Off Iranian Coast

Recent reports indicate a serious mutiny situation aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln. Seven U.S. Navy personnel have possibly been killed and several others injured in a violent clash among the crew, highlighting growing unrest and morale issues during an extended deployment.

Family members outraged over unbearable conditions on aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln

Family members said sailors have faced non-operational toilets, showers without hot water, laundry facilities broken for weeks and prolonged waits for basic hygienic supplies. They described lines of an hour or more at the ship’s store, which was said at times to lack soap, deodorant and toothpaste. Relatives also reported periods in which food portions were rationed.

Still nothing from MSM sources, but obviously not Fake Newz.

USS Abraham Lincoln sailors tried to jump overboard amid extended deployment – reports

Two leading specialist military papers, the Navy Times and Stars and Stripes, are reporting that there have been multiple attempts by sailors to jump overboard as poor conditions and mental stresses on the Lincoln reach the breaking point. The crew is in its ninth month at sea, and has spent 250 days consecutively without making land – a record for an aircraft carrier in modern times.

Well, it's made it to the MSM branded as a "mental health crisis".  Nothing about Mutiny, Riot or Dead Grunts so far.

Diesel is definitely the more important distillate as far as oveerall inflation is concerned.  Gas just affects Happy Motoring, Jet Fuel Fearless Flying, but Diesel hits the prices of everything we eat, every toy we buy, every McMansion being built and every mine digging rare earth minerals out of the ground.  How much it costs your city to do snow removal this winter and how much to pump the fresh water and the sewage.  Up go the taxes to pay for it.

The Inflation is bad enough, but if/when real shortages develop, the very life blood of industrial society drains away.  It's like Bleeding Out for the whole civilization.  Drones & Missiles hit a few more refineries and we'll get there sooner rather than later.

$10/gal could do it. I would simply ease more into using the EV, as the Boy Scouts say, "Be Prepared!".

The solar panels and whole house backup battery permits have made it through the process, installation coming soon. I don't get it, to some extent. The advent of the Chevy Volt should have been a clue, oil folks certainly didn't sit idly by waiting in line for some pollution spewing monster truck or another. After all..peak oil was coming! The Volt was released 16 years ago, like, 2 or 3 peak oils ago!

Oh, Elon branching out with his big rigs from California like years ago seems to be proceeding exactly as expected. Start small, learn, do better,faaster, cheaper and presto....electrification of trucks looks like it is following the same path as EVs in general. Like he did with ebay, and as of late, knocking off various space delivery folks....otherwise known as "countries".

Maybe back in the OLD days when peak oil when ambulance chaser turned peak oil expert turned astrologist turned substitute teacher Matt Savinar (I just emailed him the other night to see if wouldn't mind discussing his journey with someone who knew he was full of crap 20 years agp, no word back yet)!

I would feel bad for those most highly respected geoloigsts, physicists, petroleum engineers and bankers, but I can't..stepping stones into the stratosphere of the scientific world should always receive their due.
