According to the Doomsday clock we are 90 seconds away from doom which is actually the closest the clock has ever got to midnight. Whilst Diners maybe in broad agreement that the end is near it would seem when looking at the Doomsday clock website the primary concerns relate to either nuclear risk, climate change, biological threats and disruptive threats. Here is what they say about these risks:

Nuclear Risk - The last year was characterized by fraught relations among the world's great powers, who were engaged in vigorous nuclear modernization programs as the nuclear arms control regime continued to collapse. Within this general context, the contours of a peaceful and sustainable ending of Russia's war against Ukraine are difficult to discern, and concerns remain about Russia's possible use of nuclear weapons in this conflict.

Disruptive threats - Dramatic advances in generative artificial intelligence sparked debate about its potential existential risk, but it is clear that AI-enabled corruption of the information environment may threaten our capacity to address other urgent threats.

Interesting and higher level of advertising then things like the COP(out) meetings that is seemingly designed to get people to focus on whatever the current scary scenario being pitched by TPTB happens to be.

The important details overlooked are that the clock has also gone from short time frames to longer ones, which would seem to indicate that much like peak oil, Yellowstone exploding tomorrow, Planet X and the old global cooling idea and The Great Dieoff of the late 1980's, casts doubt on its actual validity of "urgency".

So, it hasn't predicted piss to date, so its value is questionable at best.
