If America goes in any way socialist (dreaming is free) America will consider the weakest form of socialism 'social democracy'  as extreme radical change.  And relative to the current fascist atmosphere that would be true.

But it would be soon undone as the fundamental structure would not change.  Private ownership would continue to mess things up.  Reactionaries always try to steal from the commons to become kings and undo progress.  People never stop doing bad shit.  Privatization is bad shit.  Reactionaries are bad people.

Alberta is Privatizing Healthcare: Threatening Public Healthcare Across Canada

It is terrible for Albertans, destroys single-tier public medicare in Canada as a national achievement, and puts at threat public healthcare across the country.

America demonstrates that a gradualist, reformist, and democratic approach toward achieving social equality can't stand up to the sociopathic erosion of selfish men.  Progress will always be undone in a hybrid system.
