I love it when the nearly useless mainstream news lets a truth slip out, which isn't often. After all, billionaire owned media is run on sins of omission, false emphasis and outright lies, a vehicle to promote planetary scale destructive consumption as we desperately try to fill the insidious inner void we feel perpetrated over the decades; profit designed human isolation as pharmaceutical advertising rolls over the TV screen promising relief for our bodies and minds made sick by the entire system. And Jeff Bezos just laid off hundreds at the once mighty Washington Post to curry favor with Donald Trump. This, the formerly venerable newspaper that broke the Watergate scandal in its heyday, when newsrooms were considered sacrosanct, not expected to turn a profit, and improving Democracy was still a concern if you recognized systemic racial crime and political conspiracy.
