Quote from: RE on Apr 05, 2026, 07:29 AMI know all of you and him and he has gone insane, and all of you are complicit. I'm not defending Iran but let's be honest about all of this.

The Strait is closed because the US and Israel started the unprovoked war against Iran based on the same nuclear lies they've been telling for decades, that any moment Iran would develop a nuclear weapon.

You know who has nuclear weapons? Israel. They are more than capable of defending themselves without the US having to fight their wars, kill innocent people and children, and pay for it. Trump threatening to bomb power plants and bridges hurts the Iranian people, the very people Trump claimed he was freeing.

Can't wait to see how the cheerleaders on Faux Newz try to spin this one.

Images Emerge of Downed US Aircraft in Central Iran

The spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters of Iran announced on Sunday, April 5, that that Iranian military forces have destroyed several US aircraft in southern Isfahan, thwarting an attempted mission to rescue a downed American fighter pilot.

US special forces rescue second F-15E airman, two C-130s destroyed on ground

During the operation, two C-130 aircraft, presumably of the MC-130J special operations version, had to be destroyed by US forces after they got stuck on an unpaved field and were unable to take off. Two MH-6 Little Bird light helicopters may have also been destroyed in the same action.

US pilot rescued in Iran in ‘miraculous’ operation: Trump

US President Donald Trump yesterday said that US forces had safely recovered a second pilot downed in Iran, calling it one of the most daring search-and-rescue operations in US history.

And from a MAGA rag.

Got Him! Weapons Systems Officer Rescued After F-15E Shot Down

A Colonel serving as a Weapons Systems Officer in the F-15E that was shot down in Iran on Good Friday, was rescued in a daring operation. The first pilot was rescued immediately. The Weapons System Officer was another story entirely. He had to climb- while injured – around 7000 feet to a ridge away from the crashed aircraft. Daring is a word you could use, but it is woefully understated.

As far as MAGA is concerned, glory was had.

There is something fishy about planes destroyed on the ground because they did not have room to take off.  How did they land? And nobody got hurt in any of this.  Helicopters lost?  I hope they find them!

This is very hard to believe.

THE MISSING LINK: HELICOPTER CREWS AND UNACCOUNTED CASUALTIES

Destroyed helicopters (MH-6 Little Birds) and transport planes (MC-130Js) require crews. The official "zero casualty" claim does not explain where those crews went.  Captured, killed, or evacuated, without explanation we have a few possibilities here.

  • Four MH-6 Little Birds destroyed — each requires 2 pilots (approx. 8 personnel unaccounted for)
  • Two MC-130Js destroyed on ground — each requires approx. 5 crew (approx. 10 personnel unaccounted for)
  • U.S. government states "zero killed or wounded" but does not explicitly state all crews were evacuated
  • Iranian and Yemeni media report U.S. casualties (9 killed, 7 injured) — unverified by U.S. sources
  • Fox News and CBS News initially reported "several special forces members injured" — later downplayed
  • Possible explanations:

    • Crews evacuated by three replacement C-130s before destruction (unconfirmed)
    • U.S. defining "casualty" narrowly as "killed in action," excluding wounded
    • Casualties occurring but not yet disclosed to public
    • Crews captured by Iranian forces — no evidence provided by Iran

Conclusion: The "zero casualty" claim is mathematically possible only if every crew member was safely extracted before their aircraft was destroyed. No source has confirmed this evacuation occurred.

Eighteen missing crew members is not the same thing as loosing track of people in a shopping mall.  But it seems I may be the only one who thinks this way.

Trump risks falling into ‘asymmetric resolve’ trap in Iran — just like presidents before him

Trump, like other U.S. presidents before him, has fallen into what I call the trap of asymmetric resolve. In short, this occurs when a stronger power with less determination to fight starts a military conflict with a far weaker state that has near-boundless determination to prevail. Victory for the strong becomes tough, even close to impossible.

"Tuesday, 8:00 P.M. Eastern Time!" he said in his latest post.

Or, anybody that follows his orders will be committing a war crime.

‘45-day ceasefire with shadow of war’ has no place in Iranian politics

Axios, the Israeli-American media outlet, wrote minutes ago that some mediators are trying to establish a 45-day temporary ceasefire in the current war.

Although no official reaction has been made to this issue so far, Axios is generally known as a psychological warfare arm of the Mossad operating in America, especially with regard to Iran.

A temporary ceasefire with the shadow of war, without meeting Iran's conditions for the end of the war, will only allow the enemy to rebuild. In addition, they will also preserve the shadow of war on Iran during this ceasefire opportunity, and through this path, they will benefit their anti-Iranian interests in the military, economic and political spheres and ... They will win.

Trump needs to be stopped.

RE

No way the Israelis will go 45 days without shooting or blowing up someone or something.

Trumpolini has been talking about 'his' billion dollar rescue operation for three days straight now, and he has just about managed to turn his original shoot-down of an F-15 embarrassment into a fucking profile in courage.  Nobody has talked about the cost, and why bother.  Line the dollars up end to end in the new defensed department budget increase and you can go to the moon.  The military has money to burn.

Trump's $1.5 Trillion Defense Budget Increase Found To Reach Nearly Halfway To Sun If Laid End To End, Experts Confirm

WASHINGTON — Declaring that the U.S. military has never been stronger, President Donald Trump formally proposed a $1.5 trillion defense budget Friday, an increase of roughly $458 billion over a baseline of about $1.04 trillion, which administration officials described as "more than enough to go an extremely impressive distance in a straight line.

We're going to have so much defense, you won't believe it," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office, gesturing vaguely toward a chart labeled 'SPACE (POTENTIAL).' "People are saying, 'Sir, how far does it go?' And I say, very far. Maybe not all the way, but very, very far."The proposed increase amounts to approximately $458.3 billion, or 458.3 billion individual dollar bills.

According to the U.S. Currency Education Program, a single dollar bill measures 6.14 inches in length. Using these official dimensions, laying the bills end to end would produce a continuous strip measuring approximately:

➡️ 44.4 million miles (71.5 million kilometers) Analysts confirmed this figure after performing what several described as "surprisingly straightforward arithmetic.

To put 44.4 million miles in perspective:

🌙 The line would travel to the Moon and back about 93 times (Earth–Moon round trip ≈ 477,800 miles).

☀️ It would reach about 48% of the distance to the Sun (average Earth–Sun distance ≈ 93 million miles).

🛸 It would extend well beyond geostationary orbit (22,236 miles) and far past typical satellite ranges.

🔴 It would fall short of Mars even at its closest approach (~34 million miles at minimum, but typically much farther), meaning it might reach Mars only under ideal orbital conditions and with exact timing no one bothered to calculate.

🪐 It would not come remotely close to Pluto (~3.7 billion miles) and would reach only about 0.3% of the distance to Voyager 1 (~15+ billion miles from Earth).

While earlier reports suggested the money could leave the solar system, updated calculations indicate it would instead form a very long but ultimately solar-system-bound line, said one analyst.  Still, nearly halfway to the Sun is objectively a strong showing for loose currency.  Budget Director Russell Vought praised the scale of the proposal.

QuoteThe American people expect their defense dollars to go far," And by any reasonable measurement, 44 million miles is far.  It's just not 'interstellar diplomacy' far.

Pentagon officials echoed that sentiment, emphasizing that while the funding may not physically reach deep space, it would "project fiscal presence" well beyond Earth  orbit.

Meanwhile, engineers at NASA confirmed that the same amount of money, if allocated differently, could instead be used to "build an actual spacecraft.

As of press time, Trump was reportedly exploring an additional $50 billion increase, which aides say could push the total distance to "well past halfway to the Sun, and possibly into what experts are calling

'The serious fraction zone.'

This is not really from the Onion.  And the math is correct.

Israeli strikes target Iran’s petrochemical facilities

The US-Israeli strikes targeted civilian and energy infrastructure, including the South Pars petrochemical complex and multiple airports, claiming several lives while at least four Israelis were killed when an Iranian missile hit Haifa overnight tearing a building apart.

America works all day, pays all the bills, takes all the heat from the neighbors, and then watches Israel do whatever it wants with their military. When Israel bombs a target America didn't like? Israel tells him "Oh, you're getting cold feet now? After everything I've done for you?" America sighs, re-ups the Iron Dome funding, tells the UN to look away, and America's military hopes for a happy ending of its own.  Praying for release.

America even moved its embassy to Jerusalem.  That's like buying a apartment next to your partner's ex and you be working the swing shift. And when the rest of the world asks, 'Why do you put up with this?' America just says, 'You don't understand our bond.'

And Canada is complaining about the noise again.

The link works for me.  Communications from Iran are being blocked where they can be.  Why I can get it and you can't is the real question.  A website I was going to in PARS has no new content, and some things are no longer there that were there.  I suspect a spoof.  Iran has several border countries, and I check their news.  Perhaps I get into Iran from their servers?  I do not know.

Gallipoli: The Original "Force the Strait" Disaster

For those who do not know the history:

In 1915, Winston Churchill (then First Lord of the Admiralty) proposed a naval campaign to force the Dardanelles Strait—a narrow, 61-kilometer waterway connecting the Mediterranean to the Black Sea. The objective was to capture Constantinople (Istanbul), knock the Ottoman Empire out of World War I, and open a supply route to Russia.

The plan: Send British and French battleships up the strait. Suppress the Ottoman coastal forts with naval gunfire. Clear the mines. Sail through to Constantinople.

What happened:

The Ottomans had laid mines in the strait.
The Allied naval bombardment failed to destroy the mobile artillery batteries.
Several battleships struck mines and sank.
The navy withdrew, having failed to force the strait.

So the Allies tried a ground invasion instead. They landed troops on the Gallipoli Peninsula—the rugged, hilly terrain on the northern side of the strait.

What happened then:

The Ottoman defenders (commanded by Mustafa Kemal, later Atatürk) were dug in on the high ground.
The Allied troops landed on the wrong beaches, in the wrong order, without adequate support.
They were pinned down on narrow beachheads for eight months.
Tens of thousands died (44,000 Allied, 86,000 Ottoman).
The campaign was eventually evacuated, having achieved nothing.

The strategic result: The strait remained closed. The Ottomans did not surrender. Russia did not get its supply route. The war dragged on for three more years.

By 1915 the 1907 study had been forgotten.  Even in 1915 there were Trumpers.
